Raiders were WINNING this past weekend!

The Raiders baseball team clinched another winning season over the weekend with some offensive firepower on Friday and Saturday!

On Friday the Raiders took care of the Rankin Rebels, 17-2. The Raiders pounded out 10 hits led by Jaxton Bolen’s 2 hits and Aden Bell’s 3 hits. 8 different Raiders had RBIs with Aden Bell leading the way with 3 and Griffin Tudela adding 2 in the winning effort.

Tudela also shined on the mound, firing a complete game while scattering 5 hits and 2 walks to go with 6 strikeouts.

The Raiders then backed up the 17 run effort with a 16 run effort on Saturday, defeating Lincoln Junior High 16-6!

The Raiders had 14 hits on the day with all nine Raiders picking up hits! Eli Tumilty had a monster game for the Raiders, going 4-5 with 2 doubles and 5 RBIs! Cael Zaayenga also reached base 3 times, picking up 2 hits and a walk and Landen Dietz and Griffin Tudela also picked up 2 hits and 2 RBI apiece!

Tumilty also tossed 3 and 2/3 innings scattering 5 hits and striking out 8 batters. Jaxton Bolen came in and got the win for the Raiders, striking out 3 over his 2 and 1/3 innings allowing no hits and no walks!

AND

Kynlie Hilst drove in five runs on three hits to lead MCMS Raiders Softball past Norwood Tornadoes 17-3.

MCMS Raiders Softball scored nine runs in the first inning on the way to victory. Kynlie hit a solo inside the park home run, Sophia Holeman tripled, scoring one run, Peyton Bernshausen singled, scoring two runs, Kynlie doubled, scoring two runs, and Sophia singled, scoring three runs.

Peyton Bernshausen hit a solo inside the park home run in the top of the second for the MCMS Raiders Softball.

The Raiders scored seven runs on five hits in the top of the fourth inning. Kynlie singled, scoring two runs, Libby Duwaldt singled, scoring one run, Sophia tripled, scoring one run, Kallie Herrman doubled, scoring one run, and Harper Gough doubled, scoring two runs.

Libby earned the win for MCMS Raiders Softball. The starting pitcher allowed one hit and three runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out eight and walking four.

MCMS Raiders Softball collected 14 hits in the game. Sophia led MCMS Raiders Softball with four hits in four at bats. Kallie, Peyton Bernshausen, and Libby each collected multiple hits for MCMS Raiders Softball. The team had patience at the plate, amassing six walks for the game.

MCMS Raiders Softball defeated Deer Creek - Mackinaw Braves 11-1 on Thursday thanks in part to nine runs in the first inning. A dropped third strike scored one run, Peyton Bernshausen drew a walk, scoring one run, Peyton Collins singled, scoring one run, Nora Dierker drew a walk, scoring one run, Izzy Friedrich grounded out, scoring one run, Kynlie Hilst singled, scoring one run, and Sophia Holeman singled, scoring three runs. Sophia earned the win for MCMS Raiders Softball. The hurler gave up three hits and one run over five innings, striking out six and walking one. Sophia also provided pop in the middle of the lineup, leading MCMS Raiders Softball with two runs batted in. The pitcher went 1-for-2 on the day. Peyton Collins went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead MCMS Raiders Softball in hits. Peyton Bernshausen paced MCMS Raiders Softball with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game. Kynlie stole two bases. MCMS Raiders Softball were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error.

The MCMS XC team participated in Havana today for their 3rd meet of the season. The weather was nice, and their times were fast. All runners ran their best times of the season with many running their best times ever. The times ranged from :25 to 6:04 better. Kennedy Prather ran the best she has ever done by running 6:04 faster than her last meet. The top 15 runners in each division received a medal for their accomplishments. Below are the times and places of our runners. The Raiders run at home next week on September 9th. Kynlie Hilst drove in four runs on three hits to lead MCMS Raiders Softball past Lincoln Trojans 13-3 on Tuesday. Kynlie tripled in the second scoring two, tripled in the fifth scoring one, and singled in the seventh scoring one.

MCMS Raiders Softball were the first to get on the board in the second when Kynlie tripled, scoring two runs.

The Raiders flipped the game on its head in the top of the fifth, scoring five runs on three hits to take the lead, 7-2. Sophia Holeman walked to start the inning. Next to the plate, Kallie Herrman singled on a bunt, moving courtesy runner Mackenzie Campbell from first to third. Peyton Bernshausen then drew a walk. With bases loaded, Peyton Collins singled, scoring one. Kallie scored on an error. Jaina Butler put the ball in play and reached first on an error, scoring one. Izzy Friedrich then scored one on a ground out. Kynlie finalized the score in the inning with a triple to right field, scoring one.

MCMS Raiders Softball scored six runs on three hits in the top of the seventh inning. Kynlie singled, scoring one run, Sophia drew a walk, scoring one run, Peyton Bernshausen singled, scoring two runs, and Harper Gough doubled, scoring two runs.

Sophia led things off in the circle. The hurler allowed six hits and three runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out nine and walking three.

MCMS Raiders Softball accumulated nine hits in the game. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating 11 walks for the game. Sophia led the team with three walks.

6th Grade Student Spotlight is Annie Johnson. Annie has worked extremely hard on following classroom expectations and personal goals she has set for herself. Annie is more than willing to try and redo anything that is thrown her way. Annie always has one of the biggest smiles in 6th grade and cheers everyone up she sees! Great job Annie.

The Raiders moved to 5-2 on the season with a 14-2 victory over the Hartem Stags! Griffin Tudela did it all on his birthday, going 3 - 3 with a double and 3 RBI and tossing a complete game on the mound! Tudela struck out 6 and scattered 3 hits and a walk for the victory.

6 different Raiders had hits in the offensive attack, with Jaxton Bolen, Jase Canada and Sam Dierker all picking up multiple hits and Connor Coile and Sam Dierker added 2 RBI a piece in the team effort.

The Raiders completed the sweep in game 2 with a complete game from Landen Dietz in the 7-3 win! Dietz struck out 7 and scattered four hits and 2 walks. Hudson Nolan had a 2 RBI double and picked up another RBI in his second at bat. Liam Tumilty and Garrett Shay also picked up hits in the win.

MCMS Raiders Softball and Farmington Jr High Farmers tied 4-4 on Thursday after reaching the two hour time limit given by IESA.

Raiders Softball opened the scoring in the top of the first after scoring two runs thanks to Kynlie Hilst hitting a double and Libby Duwaldt, Sophia Holeman, and Peyton Bernshausen each hitting singles.

MCMS Raiders Softball added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Libby tripled, scoring Izzy Friedrich who got on with a double, and Sophia doubled, scoring courtesy runner, Mackenzie Campbell.

Libby stepped in the circle first for MCMS Raiders Softball. The starter surrendered eight hits and four runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out four and walking two. Sophia finished the game in relief, surrendering two hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out four.

MCMS Raiders Softball amassed eight hits in the game. Kynlie, Sophia, and Libby each collected two hits for the team. Libby led MCMS Raiders Softball with two runs batted in. The pitcher went 2-for-4 on the day.

The Raiders turned one double play in the game when third baseman Sophia fielded a bunt and threw it to Kallie Herrman for the putout. Kallie then threw the ball to Kynlie to tag the runner trying to advance from first to third on the bunt.
