🏐 STATE TOURNAMENT TROPHY EARNED 🏐
Our eighth grade girls brought home the 4th place trophy from the IESA State Volleyball Tournament this weekend, and we couldn’t be prouder!
After an incredible 28-3 season built on selfless teamwork, these athletes faced off against the best competition in Class 2A. They advanced through the opening round on Friday with a dominant win against Kewanee Wethersfield, then fought with heart and determination on Saturday through two tough losses. First to the state runner-up Morrisonville, followed by a tough match vs. third-place Springfield Christian in a three-set battle.
This team epitomizes what it means to work together, lift each other up, and leave everything on the court. Every celebration, every rally, every tough moment... it was done as one unit.
Out of over 100 teams vying for glory in the 2A division, our girls finished 4th place in the state. From the regular season through Sectionals and into the Final Four at State, the Midwest Central Raiders 8th Grade Volleyball team made history and showed us what championship character looks like.
Congratulations, Raiders! You made us so proud.

Updated Last Day of School
After using an emergency day on March 16, the current last day of school schedule (pending no additional emergency days need to be used) is:
• May 29 – Full Day
• June 1 – Half Day (morning only)
We’ve had some questions about why we can’t simply make the last day a full day to make up for the half day we missed earlier. This comes down to state attendance requirements.
To count as a full attendance day, schools must provide at least 5 hours of instruction. Any time beyond that can be “banked,” which allows planned half days to still count as full days. Our last day is scheduled as a half day, but it counts as a full attendance day because we apply that banked time.
However, two half days cannot be combined into one full day under state rules. In addition, students are required to attend 176 days of school, so when we use an emergency day, we must add another full day to the calendar.
Thank you for your understanding and flexibility!

Scholastic bowl took a tough loss after leading most of the meet last night. Team captain Symphani Tuck lead by answering 6 toss ups. Hadley Miles answered 2 keeping the Raiders in the lead. They held on until the very end when DeeMack pulled ahead. Come watch our brilliance shine Tuesday, March 17 at 4 when our Raiders take on Rankin at home.
🏐 Congratulations to the Midwest Central 8th Grade Volleyball team on winning the Regional Championship last night!

From start to finish, these girls played as a true team… with trust, heart, and composure that never wavered.
