Dear Midwest Central Parents, We are sorry to announce that due to lack of resources, we are not able to do a district wide Toy Drive this year. However, we are going to target specific families in need and distribute what we have collected to those families. We will be contacting those parents but if you feel you are a family in need, please contact the primary school at 309.968.6464 by Monday Dec. 13th. We are still taking monetary donations as well new unwrapped toys. We thank you for your continued support to our students in our community!

Mrs. Gough's SEL Group, we discussed a growth vs. a fixed mindset. The students started with a group challenge to release knots in a string of yarn. It was a difficult task....do we give up or keep trying?

MCPS staff shared some food, some laughs, some life together before pouring into hours of curriculum development this afternoon. We take our half days seriously at Midwest Central and we needed nourishment and encouragement to and from each other to get it done!

Ms. Ranallo came into Miss Forsythe and Mrs. Trettin’s morning and afternoon classes to give them an “Egg”cellent demonstration. She explained to our children how we are all different shapes, colors and sizes, but we are all the same on the inside!

Kindergarten has been busy talking about community helpers. We even had a special guest... Dr. Erika Hunter stopped by to talk to students about what she does as a doctor (THANK YOU Dr. Hunter). The students had a fun day in the “operating room” learning while having fun!
