It’s all PINK in Mrs. Appell’s team time for Valentine’s Day and Spirit Week.
The 7th grade girls’ volleyball team came out strong last night and defeated Greenview in two straight sets to improve their record to 13-3. The 8th grade team fought back after being down in both of their set to also get the W! Awesome job, teams!

All the volleyball teams got wins last night versus Hollis! Great job ladies! They will take on Greenview tonight with seventh grade starting at 5:30 and eighth grade to follow. The girls Will not be staying after school today and need to be back by 4:30 and ready to go at 4:45.

Today we presented the family of the young student in our District fighting cancer with the proceeds generated from our HS boys' basketball Coaches for Cancer Benefit. The total amount collected from all sources of the benefit totalled $2025.00. Midwest Central would like to thank all those who donated and purchased items for this cause.

Breckin G and Johnny M were treated to homemade cookies on Thursday for each being selected as the IESA Sportsmanship Pin recipients during the recent 7th grade basketball tournaments. We're so proud of them both!
Scholastic Bowl traveled to Dee-Mack last night. Damian led the team with 6 toss ups answered with Leelinn, Jaden, and Brooklyn supporting. The match was heated but Dee-Mack won a close one in the end.
The B match had Emmah, Cozy, and Emily all answering questions, but Dee Mack pulled out the win.
Mr. Bernhardt is hopeful for the rest of the year with the new team as the they travel to Havana on the 22nd for their next match.
The Lady Raiders Volleyball team will be participating in a benefit game tonight to support a South Pekin player that was recently diagnosed with cancer. All proceeds will go directly to her family to support them during this difficult time. The 7th grade game will start at 5:00; followed by the 8th grade team; followed by a “B” game at 7:00.

The 6th grade boys played two games against Havana last night. The Raiders ability to push the ball and play aggressively on defense had them scoring in bunches. Jaxton Bolen contributed 15 points and made some clutch free throws at the end to put the Raiders on top! The Raiders continued in their effort for the second game as everyone was able to get on the scoreboard and give the Raiders another win! The boys look to keep up their momentum as they go against The Lab here at the Middle School next Thursday.
