The MCHS Cross Country team has gotten off to a hot start this season. With two meets now under their belts, the boys are now two for two on seasons bests. On Friday at the IVC invitational, Junior Dakota Piro placed 41st with a time of 21:05. CJ Ballard, a senior, was right behind him in 42nd place with a time of 21:09. Both had over a minute and a half personal bests from last year’s time on the same course.   On Tuesday, Sept 2nd at the Havana Invite, Dakota put on a strong last mile to place 8th overall in a time of 20:57…a new personal record. Finishing in 11th place was CJ Ballard with a time of 21:28. CJ’s time was also about a minute faster than last year’s time. The Raiders look to keep up their fast times this Thursday at Home versus Mt.Pulaski, Illini Bluffs, and Peoria Christian.

The Raiders golf team hosted a triangular with 2 conference foes today at Sunset Hills. The Raiders made it 5 wins on a row by defeating Greenview and Mt. Pulaski. Zach Highland and Dalton Johnson shot 2 over par to lead the team. Also, thanks to everyone who supported the Booster Club at the lemonade stand this weekend!

The MC Golf Team swept their quadrangular match today at IC. They swept IC, Auburn, and the Ducks. Dalton Johnson was the match medalist carding a 36. They return to action on Tuesday at home. Come see us at the lemonade stand Saturday!

The Lady Raiders came out on top against BPC. Winning 25-10 , 25-23. Raiders were led in kills by Eliza Kerley with 10 and Kayleigh Herrman with 6. Addison Friedrich added 5 digs to help the Lady Raiders secure the win. Amelia Meeker added 11 service points in the thrilling second set. Mia Warner finished with 21 assists.

The Midwest Central Golfing Raiders rebounded with a successful triangular Tuesday at home. They split with a 17 stroke win against Tremont and a 2 stroke loss to IB. Collin Price led the way for the Raiders carding 2 over par, followed by Zach Highland and Dalton Johnson’s 3 over par finish. Their next match is at Illini Central on Thursday.

Midwest Central High School was honored to welcome two special visitors today. Mr. Wendell Hinesley, who retired from Forman High School in 1990 after 32 years of service, and Mr. Robert Moser, who retired from MCHS in 2001, returned to tour their former classrooms. During their visit, they had the unique opportunity to reconnect with three of their former students, who now serve as staff members at MCHS: Mr. Greg Rendleman, Mrs. Patia Picken, and Mrs. Jeanne Sarff.
