There will be no school for MC students on Monday, October 13th in observance of Columbus Day!

The JV volleyball ladies traveled to Hartem tonight. They battled hard but brought home a loss, 21-25 & 23-25. Ava Warner led the team with 10 kills. Following close behind was Katie Parkin with 7 kills. The team put up a tough defense as Grace Meeks led the team with 9 digs along with Emma Markle with 5 digs.

The Anatomy & Physiology classes and Physics classes at MCHS have been performing lab experiments to connect with their lectures. Anatomy performed a skin lab to learn about their Integumentary System (skin). The Physics has been doing Barbie bungee drops and demo derby cars to determine velocity and linearization of graphs.

The high school boys cross country team competed at the Elmwood Invitational today. Junior Dakota Piro ran a new personal best time of 19:38.8 for 138th place. Dakota’s time was 1 min and 58 seconds faster than last year’s time on the same course. Senior CJ Ballard also ran a strong race today placing 185th in a time of 21:15.5, surpassing last years time of 23:22. The Raiders will compete next Saturday at the Prairie Central / Pontiac Invite in Pontiac.

The Lady Raiders went 1-2 for the day against some strong competition. Losing to Liberty and Pittsfield. Even though they faced some adversity due to injuries, the Lady Raiders were able to beat Beardstown in 3 sets going 1-2 for the day. Big congratulations to Amelia Meeker for being selected for the All-Tournament team!!!

The Golfing Raiders were in action today at Regionals in Bloomington. It was not the result our seniors had planned, but they fought hard to the end. What a career they had at MC! We’re all proud of you.

What an incredible Volley for the Cure! The JV Lady Raiders battled to beat the South Fulton Rebels in three games 21-25, 25-21 & 15-11. Ava Warner led the team with 8 service points. The V Lady Raiders won in two sets 25-15, 25-22. Eliza Kerley led in kills with 10 while Amelia Meeker and Kayleigh Herrman each tallied 7 a piece. A strong service run with 8 points by Mia Warner in the second set carried the Raiders to victory. Thank you fans for all the support! You were loud and made us proud.

The Golfing Raiders had a rough outing at the Tomahawk Conference Tournament in Bloomington today. Dalton Johnson persevered with an all conference performance finishing in the top 6. Congrats to him! The Raiders will be at the same course Wednesday for Regionals.

Ms. Rousseau's U.S. History 1 students spent Friday learning about Lewis and Clark's Expedition through the Louisiana Territory. They traveled around the room to different posted stations, following the adventure step by step! Students learned about the many obstacles of the journey, including waterfalls, harsh winters, the Rocky Mountains, and getting chased by bears! During the activity, students recorded their reactions as if they were on the Expedition, putting themselves into Lewis and Clark's shoes.
