The Raiders ran today at home for the second time this year. Today was a little warmer than our last race at home. Jaina Butler placed 7th with a time of 15:13, Alice Brackney placed 24th with a time of 19:13, and Ruby Wade placed 26th with a time of 22:15. The boys were led by Reid Sidders place of 18th and a time of 16:23. Carson Campbell placed 22nd with a time of 16:32, Noa Stage placed 24th with a time of 17:50, Liam Tumility placed 35th with a time of 23:06, and Tyler Vanderwulp placed 36th with a time of 24:20. The Raiders run next Thursday at IC for their next meet.

These photos will be used for yearbook photos. For that reason, ALL students will have their picture taken, even if families do not order prints.

For the past couple of weeks, 1st grade has been learning about our community. Today, the mayor of Manito, Tim Sondag, was able to come to the school to talk about his duties as the mayor. The students loved asking him questions about his job and the town. THANK YOU, TIM!






Today the MS XC team ran at PORTA. All the runners ran a great race, with many beating personal goals they set for themselves prior to running. Jaina Butler led the girls team by medaling in 20th place with a time of 15:00.9. Alice Brackney ran her best race of the year by placing 93rd with a time of 18:03.4. The boys were led by Carson Campbell placing 92nd with a time of 16:20.9. Tyler Vanderwulp ran today like he was possessed by placing 106th with a time of 17:41.2. Ashton Campbell ran a solid race by finishing in 109th place with a time of 18:02.6. Noa Stage and KonLee Ashby battled each other throughout the race. Noa edged KonLee at the finish by placing 123rd with a time of 20:12.4. KonLee finished in 124th with a time of 20:14.9. Liam Tumility continues to improve by finishing 128th with a time of 22:46.3. The Raiders next race at home on the 19th.











The Raiders finally got to run on their home course today. All the runners that have ran the last 2 years for us ran their best time for our course today. We compare their times that they have ran on the same course to determine their growth. The girls team as led by Jaina Butler, who placed 8th with a time of 15:01. Alice Brackney placed 22nd with a time of 20:37. Ruby Wade placed 24th with a time of 22:12. The boys were led today by Reid Sidders, who placed 4th with a time of 15:30. Carson Campbell placed 8th with a time of 16:34. Noa Stage placed 14th with a time of 20:51. Tyler Vanderwulp placed 16th with a time of 20:52. Conlee Ashby, who was running in his first meet this year, placed 16th with a time of 21:07. Liam Tumilty placed 17th with a time of 23:14. The Raiders run next at the PORTA Invitational on Saturday.










Our annual goodies with grandparents was a sweet success today! 50 dozen donuts, 10 gallons of milk, and gallons of coffee were served to Hundreds of smiling faces! Thank you, grandparents, honorary grandparents, volunteers, and staff! You're just one of the reasons MCPS is so great!







The MS cross country team competed today in Canton. The Canton course was probably the hardest course they will face this year. They all ran their best on the challenging 2 mile course today. For the girls division, we had two girls running in their very first cross country meet. Alice Brackney placed 40th with a time of 23:17. Ruby Wade placed 41st with a time of 24:02. For the boys division, Carson Campbell paced the team with a 19th place finish and a time of 16:56. Ashton Campbell placed 27th with a time of 19:57. Noa Stage placed 34th with a time of 23:13. Liam Tumility, who also was running in his very first cross country meet for us, placed 37th with a time of 24:22. Tyler Vanderwulp placed 41st with a time of 25:05. The team next runs at home on September 10th at 4:00.

Happy Labor Day! We hope our Raiders weekend was filled with celebration, relaxation, and a shared sense of gratitude for those who hustle hard every day.

The Raiders competed last night at IC for their 2nd cross country meet of the season. Even though the thermometer was hovering around 90 degrees at race time, they put their best efforts out on the course. In the girls race, Jaina Butler ran a time of 14:49 for a 3rd place finish, nearly finishing 2nd with a strong finishing kick. Her time was 55 seconds faster than she ran on that course last year. For the boys race, the team was lead by Reid Siders who ran a time of 16:42, which was good for a 32nd place finish. Carson Campbell finished the race with a time of 16:45, which placed him as 34th. His time was 41 seconds faster than his time last year. Ashton Campbell continues to improve each race. Ashton ran a time of 18:45, good for a 43rd place finish. Noa Stage ran in his first MS cross country race yesterday and finished in 49th place with a time of 20:19. Tyler Vanderwulp ran a time of 23:42, which earned him a 63rd place finish. The boys team placed 6th overall. The team compete next at Canton on September 5th.







In honor of the upcoming Grandparent's Day in September, we would like to invite all grandparents to join their Midwest Central Primary School (PK-5th grades) grandchildren for a donut and coffee before school on Tuesday September 10, 2024. Front doors open at 7:00 AM and we will clear the cafeteria by 7:45 AM.
Grandparents are welcome to walk their grandchildren to their classroom to view the space they occupy for 7 hours of their school days! All visitors must exit the building by 8:00 AM for our school day to begin.
We are looking forward to seeing all grandparents next week!


Our very own Ms. Timm has graciously volunteered to help the Midwest Spirit Softball Organization fundraise this weekend at the Popcorn Festival. She's our first volunteer to be dunked in the dunk tank! Come on out to start the dunking at 4:00 PM on Friday!
